Course reflection and self-grade.
This course taught me a lot about myself as a writer and about the writing process in general. I learned that writing has many layers, and when you slow down and really look at what you’re doing, you start to see how much thought and intention goes into every piece. I realized that I enjoy breaking things down, analyzing them, and finding the deeper meaning behind them. Writing isn’t just putting words on a page — it’s a skill, an art, and something you grow with. This class helped me see writing from different angles and made me more confident in expressing my ideas clearly. I was most engaged with the assignments that allowed me to look closely at something and explain it, like the political cartoon analysis and the bilingualism article. I enjoyed learning how to support my points with evidence and how research can open up new perspectives. The persuasive essay also showed me how even simple topics can become strong arguments when you have enough science and facts to back them up. The area I was least engaged with was probably the timing of the assignments, only because of the personal situation I had to deal with at the beginning of the course. Even with everything going on, I still made sure to communicate, stay involved, and complete all my work. When I look at the course grade breakdown, I believe I deserve a B overall. I am being fully transparent — I did turn in all of my assignments, but not always on time, so I don’t think I deserve an A. However, I completed every major assignment, stayed engaged, communicated with my instructor, and put real effort into revising and improving my writing. Considering the circumstances I was dealing with at the start of the semester, I am proud of how I managed everything. I also want to mention how blessed I feel to have had such a kind and understanding instructor during that time. Despite the challenges, I showed commitment, growth, and responsibility, and I strongly believe that my work reflects the effort of a solid B.
